Campus Drug Arrests Increased 18 Per Cent in 1995; Reports of Other Crimes Fell.

A survey of 500 large colleges and universities shows campus drug arrests rose 18% in 1995, the fourth consecutive year with a double-digit increase. Alcohol arrests increased 1%, and forcible-sex offenses increased 2%. Other crimes dropped, in line with national trends. Colleges receiving federal funds are required to report crime statistics, but reporting problems persist. (MSE)
