NCAA Agrees To Loosen Its Rules for Athletes with Learning Disabilities.
Selingo, Jeffrey; Naughton, Jim
Chronicle of Higher Education, v44 n39 pA47-A48 Jun 5 1998
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) will loosen its academic standards for college athletes with learning disabilities. By agreement with the Justice Department, the NCAA will certify special education classes offered to high school students with learning disabilities toward its initial-eligibility requirements, rather than counting them as remedial courses. Greater flexibility in eligibility requirements may follow. (MSE)
