National Collegiate Athletic Association data show that graduation rates for athletes have largely held steady from those of last year, but that male athletes, especially football and basketball players, continue to perform poorly in the classroom. In Division I, 42% of male basketball players and 48% of football players earned degrees within 6 years, compared to 54% of all male students. (SLD)
