This article briefly summarizes highlights from the Committee on Teaching About the United Nations (CATUN)-sponsored annual workshop, "A World Out of Balance: Searching for Answers Through Education" in New York City, February 4, 2005. The meeting focused on children worldwide who are struggling to survive child labor, child trafficking, child prostitution, migration, relocation, poverty, war, HIV/AIDS, or abandonment. The article concludes with a list of ways teachers and students can get more involved with the United Nations (UN) and the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) to help resolve the predicaments addressed at the meeting.
