Tai Chi Practice in the Elementary Classroom.
Baron, Lois J.
Canadian Journal of Research in Early Childhood Education, v6 n4 p341-52 Feb 1998
Examined psychological effects of Tai Chi class for fourth to sixth graders. After pretesting, randomly assigned students to experimental group of 12-week Tai Chi program or comparison group following usual school routines. Found that experimental group did not demonstrate improved perceived self-competence, visual-motor integration, or reduced trait anxiety. Self reports indicated very positive attitudes toward Tai Chi practice. (Author)
