What General Educators Have To Say about Successfully Including Students with Down Syndrome in Their Classes.
Wolpert, Gloria
Journal of Research in Childhood Education, v16 n1 p28-38 Fall-Win 2001
Investigated classroom management techniques of K-12 teachers whose classrooms included children with Down Syndrome. Teachers, all selected by parents as successful, reported that praise was the best motivator for the Down Syndrome children, and the most effective learning methods were individual and small-group instruction, hands-on activities, and computer use. Teachers' suggestions for improving the inclusion model were also solicited. (JPB)
