Joint Writing in Hebrew of Dictated Words versus Proper Names: Analysis of Low SES Mother-Kindergartner Dyads.
Aram, Dorit
Journal of Research in Childhood Education, v17 n1 p47-61 Fall-Win 2002
This study compared the writing mediation style of low SES mothers on home-like and school-like writing activities with their kindergartners. Analysis of videotaped interactions indicated that although mothers had a general cross-activity strategy of mediating writing, different writing contexts resulted in different maternal behaviors. The interaction atmosphere in the home-like activity was warmer and more cooperative; in the school-like activity, mothers were more intrusive. (Author/KB)
