Should Gay and Lesbian Issues Be Discussed in Elementary School? Issues in Education.
Boyd, Barbara Foulks
Childhood Education, v76 n1 p40-41 Fall 1999
Teachers attended an inservice presentation on gay and lesbian education in elementary schools. Educators followed focused discussion guidelines established by the National Issues Forums Institute and presented the issue from three perspectives: a biological, religious, and societal and lifestyle approach. Although no consensus was reached, participants acknowledged validation and promotion of gay and lesbian acceptance remains a difficult issue. (LBT)
