Used a phenomenological approach to examine loneliness in Canadian elementary school students whose families had immigrated within the past 3 years. Discusses experiences of loneliness related to space, bodily self, time at school, and perception of others. Notes implications for classroom practice, including arranging the physical space, providing meaningful social interaction, and using nonverbal communication effectively. (KB)
