Briggs, Freda – Early Child Development and Care, 1988
Parents of 565 children aged 3-12 years were interviewed to find out what the parents told their children to protect them from sexual molestation. Three quarters of the parents told their children nothing, and most parents who thought they had given information had only given hints. (RJC)

Investigates the relationships among 20 mothers' and 20 fathers' self-reports of caregiving and emotional involvement with their four-month-old infants. For fathers, caregiving was positively correlated with emotional involvement with infants, time spent touching infants, average length of touch, and frequency of gazes at infants. (RJC)

Gullo, Dominic F. – Early Child Development and Care, 1988
Investigated differences in achievement of 221 kindergartners with different cognitive tempos. Results suggest that kindergartners who exhibit an impulsive cognitive tempo may be judged by teachers as being less academically and socially competent than other kindergartners. (RJC)

Assesses the school achievement and level of education of 530 children reared in children's villages.
