Evolutionary Perspectives on the Development of Social Exchanges.
Sheese, Brad E.; Graziano, William G.
New Directions for Child and Adolescent Development, n95 p73-85 Spr 2002
Argues that apparent incompatibilities between social exchange and developmental perspectives can be resolved by using evolutionary theories to extend the logic of social exchange. Discusses the implications of an expanded evolutionary perspective on social exchange and development, proposing that developmental context and genetic relatedness may fundamentally alter social exchange processes. Explores a broader perspective based on multilevel selection theories. (Author/KB)
