The Principle of Mutual Exclusivity in Word Learning: To Honor or Not to Honor?
Au, Terry Kit-fong; Glusman, Mariana
Child Development, v61 n5 p1474-90 Oct 1990

Findings suggest that even preschoolers use knowledge about language and categorization to fine tune the mutual exclusivity assumption. (RH)
