A Two-Year Longitudinal Study of Stressful Life Events, Social Support, and Social Problem-Solving Skills: Contributions to Children's Behavioral and Academic Adjustment.
Dubow, Eric F.; And Others
Child Development, v62 n3 p583-99 Jun 1991
Investigated the contributions of stressful life events and resources to the prediction of changes in children's adjustment. Resources and stressful life events showed some correlation with adjustment after two years. Increases in social support and social problem-solving skills over time were significantly related to improvement in behavioral and academic adjustment. Stressful life events were not predictive of adjustment. (GLR)
