Cultural Differences in Korean- and Anglo-American Preschoolers' Social Interaction and Play Behaviors.
Farver, Jo Ann M.; And Others
Child Development, v66 n4 p1088-99 Aug 1995
Compared Korean American and Anglo-American preschoolers' social and play behavior to determine the influence of culture on early development and to understand how culture shapes and organizes the environment in which children's social and play activities take place. Suggests that children's social interaction and pretend play are influenced by culture-specific socialization practices that serve adaptive functions. (AA)
