The Early Development of Children's Communication about Nested Spatial Relations.
Plumert, Jodie M.; And Others
Child Development, v66 n4 p959-69 Aug 1995
Examined how the nature of spatial relations influences children's ability to remember relations between progressively larger landmarks and spatial regions. Found that when asked about the location of an object, children clearly understood that they should provide the landmark with which the object was positioned. However, referential communication skills and biases in coding location influenced their communication about multiple landmarks. (AA)
