The Influence of Perinatal Risk Status on Contingency Learning in Six- to Thirteen-Month-Old Infants.
Millar, W. S.; And Others
Child Development, v63 n2 p304-13 Apr 1992
Examined the learning of a manipulative response by well and at-risk infants of 6 to 13 months of age who had experienced respiratory interventions in the perinatal period. Risk status reliably predicted the learning performance. Results confirmed that the effects of perinatal interventions involving respiratory complications influenced infants' processing of contingency information during the first year of life. (GLR)
