Sperber, Richard D.; And Others
Child Development, v53 n5 p1249-53 Oct 1982
Compares developmental changes in the processing of subordinate/superordinate relationships across perceptual and nonperceptual categories. Perceptual categories contained visually similar exemplars, while nonperceptual categories contained dissimilar exemplars. Second, fifth, and eleventh graders, as well as mentally retarded adolescents, performed a semantic priming task and a category-verification task. (Author/RH)
