Sex Role Identity and Adjustment during Adolescence.
Massad, Christopher M.
Child Development, v52 n4 p1290-98 Dec 1981
Examined the relationship between sex role identity and two measures of adjustment--self-acceptance and peer acceptance--among adolescents. Sex differences were discovered regarding factors positively associated with self-acceptance. Findings suggest that a model of sex role differentiation during adolescence must recognize differential pressures on male and female adolescents to conform. (Author/DB)
