Two studies were conducted to determine if children would be able to locate and revise message problems in simple referential communication tasks. Study 1: 26 first graders and 19 third graders were asked to help "fix up" uninformative written messages. Study 2: 52 first graders and 44 second graders were asked to evaluate and revise problematic messages. (Author/BN)
