Knowing How You Know: Young Children's Ability to Identify and Remember the Sources of Their Beliefs.
Gopnik, Alison; Graf, Peter
Child Development, v59 n5 p1366-71 Oct 1988
When three-, four-, and five-year-old children learned about the contents of a drawer in three different ways and were asked, immediately and after a brief delay, how they knew about the contents of the drawer, three-year-olds had difficulty identifying the sources of their knowledge, while five-year-olds did not. Delay increased difficulty for the younger children. (RH)
