Continuity in Parent-Child Relationships from Infancy to Middle Childhood and Relations with Friendship Competence.
Freitag, Milam K.; And Others
Child Development, v67 n4 p1437-54 Aug 1996
Examined continuity in parent-child relationships in a sample of German families. Traced connections between individual differences in a composite of markers of the parent-child attachment relationship system and later parent-child communications. Found that the composite modestly predicted variability in children's competence in forming relationships and adaptation is influenced by both current and past relationship status. (MOK)
