The Early Socialization of Aggressive Victims of Bullying.
Schwartz, David; Dodge, Kenneth; Pettit, Gregory S.; Bates, John E.
Child Development, v68 n4 p665-75 Aug 1997
Studied early family experiences of boys who later emerged as both aggressive and bullied during middle childhood. Found that aggressive victims had experienced more punitive, hostile, and abusive family treatment than others. Nonvictimized aggressors had greater exposure to adult aggression, but not victimization, than the normative group, whereas passive victims did not differ from the normative group. (Author/KB)
