Assessed response-decision processes of relationally and overtly aggressive children. Found that overtly aggressive children evaluated overtly aggressive responses to instrumental conflict in relatively positive ways. Overtly aggressive girls, but not boys, evaluated overtly aggressive responses to relational conflict in relatively positive ways. Relationally aggressive boys evaluated relationally aggressive responses to instrumental conflict in relatively positive ways. (Author)
