Dawson, Geraldine; Meltzoff, Andrew N.; Osterling, Julie; Rinaldi, Julie
Child Development, v69 n5 p1276-85 Oct 1998
Examined performance on neuropsychological tests (tapping the medial temporal lobe and related limbic structures, and the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, respectively) in relation to performance on tasks assessing autistic symptoms in young children with autism, and developmentally matched children with Down syndrome or typical development. Severity of autistic children's symptoms was strongly correlated with performance on medial temporal lobe task. (EV)
