Lam, Mei-Yung Lam; Lim, Swee Eng; Ma, Jung Chen; Adams, Leah D.
Early Child Development and Care, v173 n1 p147-58 Feb 2003
This study examined the perceptions of teachers and parents of preschoolers in Hong Kong regarding what constitutes thinking skills, the importance of thinking skills in children's lives, strategies they use to foster thinking skills in young children, and their perceived roles in facilitating thinking skills. Responses revealed the need for more adult understanding and support for children's thinking as a process. Findings pose implications for teacher and parent education. (Author/KB)
