Evidence that Children and Adolescents Have Internal Models of Peer Interactions that Are Gender Differentiated.

Examined children's internal representations of peer interactions. Found that children as young as preschool-age rate typical boys as preferring group interactions more than typical girls, more likely than girls to be friends with one another if they are friends with the same target boy or girl, respectively; and as less likely than girls to know certain information about friends.
