The Impact of Family Obligation on the Daily Activities and Psychological Well-Being of Chinese American Adolescents.
Fuligni, Andrew J.; Yip, Tiffany; Tseng, Vivian
Child Development, v73 n1 p302-14 Jan-Feb 2002
Examined extent to which Chinese-American adolescents assist and spend time with their families. Found that adolescents were more likely to balance family obligations with academic demands than with peer relationships. Girls showed slightly more conflict between activities, but neither family obligations nor balancing activities were associated with psychological distress. (JPB)
