Continuity, Stability, and Change in Daily Emotional Experience across Adolescence.
Larson, Reed W.; Moneta, Giovanni; Richards, Maryse H.; Wilson, Suzanne
Child Development, v73 n4 p1151-65 Jul-Aug 2002
This longitudinal study examined change in 220 adolescents' daily range of emotional states between early and late adolescence. Findings showed that emotional states became less positive across early adolescence; this downward change in average emotions ceased in grade 10. The greatest relative instability was during early adolescence; stability increased in late adolescence. Average emotions had relative stable relations to life stress and psychological adjustment between early and late adolescence. (Author/KB)
