Daily Variation in Ethnic Identity, Ethnic Behaviors, and Psychological Well-Being among American Adolescents of Chinese Descent.
Yip, Tiffany; Fuligni, Andrew J.
Child Development, v73 n5 p1557-72 Sep-Oct 2002
This study examined links among global ethnic identity and ethnic behaviors, ethnic identity salience, and psychological well-being among Chinese American adolescents. Analysis of daily diary entries over a 2-week period indicated a positive daily association between engagement in ethnic behaviors and ethnic salience, while links between ethnic identity salience and well-being were dependent on global ethnic identity. Age and gender differences in these associations were noted. (JPB)
