Shriner, Michael; Schlee, Bethanne M.; Mullis, Ronald L.; Cornille, Thomas A.; Mullis, Ann K.
Early Child Development and Care, v178 n2 p165-176 Feb 2008
Federal and State Governments provide childcare subsidies for low-income working families. This study compares the encountered issues and working environments of family home providers of subsidized and non-subsidized childcare. Questionnaires were distributed throughout a southeastern state in the United States to 548 family home childcare providers. Differences between subsidized and non-subsidized providers with regard to their perspectives on training, staff sizes and availability of care are discussed. (Contains 7 tables.)
