Temperament Measures of African-American Infants: Change and Convergence with Age
Worobey, John; Islas-Lopez, Maria
Early Child Development and Care, v179 n1 p107-112 Jan 2009
Studies of infant temperament are inconsistent with regard to convergence across measurement sources. In addition, little published work is available that describes temperament in minority infants. In this study, measures of temperament at three and six months were made for 24 African-American infants. Although maternal ratings of activity and fussiness did not correlate with more objective measures at three months of age, ratings and the more objective assessments were significantly correlated at six months.
