The Effect of Occupational Expectations on the Educational Attainments of Males and Females.
Looker, E. Dianne; McNutt, Karen L.
Canadian Journal of Education, v14 n3 p352-67 Sum 1989
A longitudinal study of 400 youth (aged 17-18 years) in Hamilton (Ontario) indicated that males and females differed in educational attainment. Males were more likely to attend universities, while females were more likely to attend non-university postsecondary institutions. Occupational plans, affected by gender, influenced educational decisions. (SLD)
