Using a questionnaire of 60 cognitive items, the general knowledge of Canadian students in grades 7, 10, and 12 about the Canadian political process was assessed. Questionnaire responses of 53 college faculty members in English language arts were used to construct a profile of the teaching faculty according to the sociological model of professions of S.
