School Districts and Student Achievement in British Columbia: A Preliminary Analysis.
Coleman, Peter
Canadian Journal of Education, v11 n4 p509-21 Fall 1986
The hypothesis is examined that, in British Columbia, when variables measuring socioeconomic status, district resources, and basic district characteristics are controlled, no significant differences between aggregated student achievement will remain. Results suggest that districts are significant sources of achievement variation and that achievement and resources are negatively related. (Author/JAZ)
