Professional Course Work and the Practicum: Do Good Students Make Good Teachers?
Taylor, Gerald D.; Miller, Peter J.
Canadian Journal of Education, v10 n2 p105-20 Spr 1985
This study investigates the relationship between performance in professional course work and performance in the practicum in a professional year program for prospective elementary teachers. Results indicate little relationship between theoretical course work and student teaching performance. Implications for teacher education depend upon assumptions concerning the nature, purposes, and priorities of professional education. (Author/DWH)
