A Report to the U.S. Department of Education on Educational Challenges and Technical Assistance Needs for the Southwest Region
CNA Corporation
The Southwest Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) is one of ten regional committees appointed by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education (ED) to conduct an assessment of the technical assistance needs of educators, parents, and students in the region. During the period between December 2004 and March 2005 this committee, which includes members from the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas identified the major regional challenges to improving student achievement and implementing the provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). The RAC has assessed the types of technical assistance that would enable educators in the region to overcome these challenges. [Report prepared by the Southwest Regional Advisory Committee.]
