In this article, the author reflects on her teaching career. She feels that in order for her to be an effective art teacher, she also needs to be an artist. By fostering her creativity, she feels that she can foster the creativity of her students. Her motto, which has enabled her to do many wonderful things in her classroom and for her students, has been "It never hurts to ask. All they can say is no." Very rarely does she receive a "no."
