White, Heather
SchoolArts: The Art Education Magazine for Teachers, v108 n9 p44 May-Jun 2009
This article describes an activity that combines a cute story about bugs and insects and a project that includes working with clay. The lesson begins by reading a story on insects. The author uses a chart or library book that illustrates insect body parts to discuss the attributes of the insect. Students then identify parts, examine the eyes, and count legs and antennae. They also identify the line of symmetry in insects. (Contains 1 online resources.)
