In this article, the author talks about the conceptualization and creation of "Looking and Learning," a collaborative project that provided an opportunity for her and her curriculum students to become familiar with some wonderful artists and artworks. With the Looking and Learning project, the author and her students emphasized creating curriculum around "big" or "enduring" ideas--themes at the center of people's lives. The author describes their work on this project.
