Using Interpretation Theory in Art Education Research.
Brooks, Cathy A.
Studies in Art Education, v24 n1 p43-47 Fall 1982
One of the current interpretive approaches in social science research is that of the German philosopher, Hans-Georg Gadamer. Gadamer's dialectical hermeneutics sees interpretation as being grounded in an understanding that is historical, dialectical, and linguistic. Describes the author's use of this method in an art education research project. (Author/CS)
