Influence of Style and Subject Matter on the Development of Children's Art Preferences

The specific purpose of this research was to elicit preference judgments by children about slides of paintings representing five categories of subject matter and two broad categories of style from equal numbers of males and females at three different grade levels. The intention was to find some insight in the mediating factors that may influence a child's response to visual arts stimuli. (Author/RK)
