In this article, the author relates how she passed the National Board Certification for art teachers. The author explains the process of application and submission of requirements to the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. The author suggests several strategies on how teachers may be successful in passing the board certification. She also cites examples for the components of the requirements. These components include: (1) Portrait of teaching over time; (2) Learning about art making; (3) Learning to study, interpret, and evaluate art; and (4) Documented accomplishments.
