Beyond Lexical Aspect of Japanese.
Ohya, Masanori
Journal of Japan-Korea Association of Applied Linguistics, v2 p99-112 1998
Explores categorization of verbs according to lexical aspectual meaning. Any type of categorization confronts a difficulty in suffixing "-teiru" to the verb "you-" because the "-teiru" suffixation actually yields a verb phrase to ambiguity. Suggests that the difficulty can be resolved by taking into account the aspectual property of a sentence as a whole. (Author/VWL)
