Experimenting with Education: John Dewey and Ella Flagg Young at the University of Chicago.
Lagemann, Ellen Condliffe
American Journal of Education, v104 n3 p171-85 May 1996
During his years in Chicago, while working with teacher advocate Ella Flagg Young, John Dewey wrote incisively about teachers and the political constraints that limit their effectiveness. After he left Chicago in 1904, his writings largely ignored teachers, focusing on the aims of education in a democratic society. (Author/SLD)
