Theories and Practices of Thinking and Learning To Think.
Greeno, James G.; And Others
American Journal of Education, v106 n1 p85-126 Nov 1997
Examines the relations between research about processes of learning and thinking and educational practices that attempt to achieve that aim. Three research perspectives, behaviorist, cognitive, and situative, that characterize thinking and learning to think differently are discussed. It argues that the situative perspective can provide a framework that includes the strengths and values of the behaviorist and cognitive perspectives. (GR)
