Pieces and Parts
Miller, Deborah A.; Ellis, Edith B.
American Journal of Sexuality Education, v1 n2 p67-73 Apr 2006
Although critical to understanding human sexuality and reproductive physiology, the male and female reproductive anatomy is often minimally covered by teachers. For teachers and students alike, it is often an embarrassing topic to discuss. This activity allows students and teachers to identify the parts of both reproductive systems with little discomfort, and frequently serves as a springboard for questions and discussion. In addition, this lesson addresses the knowledge and skills that are identified in the first of the National Health Education Standards: Students will comprehend health promotion and disease prevention concepts.
