A review of literature on the effectiveness of continuing education in the health professions indicates that continuing education can improve practice-related capability and performance. Increased emphasis in the program planning process on practice-related topics and problems is recommended to strengthen the overall effectiveness of continuing pharmaceutical education. (Author/MSE)
