A preliminary attempt is made in this study to generate supporting information that could give an admission committee additional insight into the validity of admission criteria currently used in colleges of pharmacy. Senior pharmacy students' perceptions prior to and after clinical experience were examined as they rated the occupations of BS pharmacist, PharmD pharmacist, physician, and nurse in one of three teaching hospitals in which the clinical course was conducted. Undergraduates of a British school of pharmacy rated 43 statements describing the characteristics exhibited by an ideal professor, and the results showed a high correlation to those obtained in an identical survey 10 years before.
