Describes procedures used by the Covina-Valley Unified School District, California, for identifying deaf and severely hard of hearing children (3 to 18 years old) who are mentally gifted. Before initiating such a program, it is suggested that there be an awareness of state requirements for classification as mentally gifted and of state funding for programs for mentally gifted. (SBH)
