Maternal Reports of Vocabulary Development in Four-Year-Old Deaf Children.
Howell, Ruth F.
American Annals of the Deaf, v129 n6 p459-65 Dec 1984
The study examined vocabulary development of two deaf children of deaf parents and two deaf children of hearing parents. Data indicated that vocabulary development occurs in a similar fashion for young deaf children whether they have deaf or hearing parents, as long as fluent communication is established in the home.
